Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay-Thai athlete from Peru, and an artist in mixed martial arts competing for the UFC at the flyweight division,, is currently participating. She is the older sister of fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her professional journey as a Muay Thai kickboxer. She first made an appearance in 2003, at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko won the competition and beat Suzane Mill in the finals by unanimous choice. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded a second silver medal in 2007, winning a bronze in 2008, a gold in 2011, and then was named the 2015 IFMA World Amateur MuayThailand Champion. Antonia began her professional journey in with her debut in 2003. She took home the WKC K-1 World Light Welterweight Championships in 2012 along with the Lion Fight Lightweight World Championships in 2016, as well as the WMC World Championships as well as Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's final fight took place at the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She won by a the unanimous verdict. Antonina Shychenko's first professional MMA debut took place in 2002 in the KFK cup of Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She took home the second round TKO fight. She also won the following two bouts in the WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. The result was the record being 3-0. Shevchenko stopped her involvement in MMA in order to concentrate on the sport of kickboxing. She returned in a fight against Anissa haddaoui, at Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko took the victory over Anissa Haddaoui by a unanimous decision. She later defeated Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4, by an unanimous vote. She resigned from the organization and started Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina defeated Nievera by her superior striking abilities during the clinch, using her knees against her body. In the aftermath of this win Antonina received the chance to sign a UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hitters' finale in which she was fought against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko suffered defeat to Roxanne Modafferi in a split decision in her debut fight. Antonina came back from losing through defeating Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler through rear-naked-choke submission. The result earned her the bonus of a fight-of-the night. Shevchenko went 2-2 in the next three fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski, and lost to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee.
